EXHIBITION: Get the chance to spend the night exploring your favourite art works at the Tate Modern

Visitors to the Tate Modern will get the chance to spend the night with their favourite works of art while enjoying an evening of surrealist-inspired activity.

For one night only, the gallery will open its doors overnight with an event exploring the dreamlike world of surrealism in celebration of the Surrealism Beyond Borders exhibition.

Musician Celeste, who took inspiration from Salvador Dali’s Metamorphosis of Narcissus will perform in the Turbine Hall.

Her new music video will also be streamed.

Other activities on offer include surrealist sketching, dream mapping workshops, film screenings and talks exploring lucid dreaming, tarot and witchcraft.

From 10pm, visitors will have exclusive access to the Surrealism Beyond Borders exhibition after-dark with a combined ticket offer.

Overnight visitors can get involved in hands-on workshops, alongside food and drink pop-ups.

The night-time soundtrack will be presented by Global Roots, whose programme includes music from DJs and musicians Laurel Halo, Alpha Maid, Damsel Elysium.

The following morning Tate Modern will present a surrealist session for families with creative workshops, DJ sets, and breakfast.

Children will have the chance to express their inner surrealists through collage and animal drawing activities and create memories to take home in Tate’s uncanny photo studio.

The Turbine Hall will host music from Zakia, from NTS Radio, and Mari*, from World Wide FM.
