TfL announces new name and sponsor for London Cable Car

By Hermia Rhodes

Transport for London (TfL) has announced that the London Cable Car will be sponsored by a new company.

The IFS will sponsor the cable car for a minimum of two years, changing the name to the IFS Cloud Cable Car, accompanied by a change in name for the two terminals to IFS Cloud Greenwich Peninsula and IFS Cloud Royal Docks, all of which is set to change this October.

IFS is a technology company that develops and distributes cloud enterprise software around the world to companies who manufacture and distribute goods.

Head of the London Cable Car, Josh Crompton, said: “Over the last 10 years, we have seen the London Cable Car attract tens of millions of visitors and secure its place as a must-visit UK attraction.

“The partnership with IFS is an exciting opportunity to continue to build on the success of the most unique part of London’s skyline.”

The London Cable Car opened in 2012, initially being used primarily for journeys between the Olympic games and ExCel London.

Ten years later, it continues to be a tourist attraction as it can take tourists to both sides of the river with ease, providing easy access to attractions on both sides of the river.
