Mind charity opens new shop in Balham

A mental health charity has opened a new shop in Balham High Road.
The new Mind charity shop offers a range of stylish clothing, vintage must-haves and bric-a-brac bargains.Â
Donations and sales made at the Balham Mind shop will support the one in four of us who will experience a mental health problem every year.Â
Mind’s shops have been on the high street for more than 60 years and rely on more than 3,000 volunteers and 450 dedicated staff across England and Wales.
Mind welcomes donations of preloved times, with an average bag of items donated to Mind shops being worth about ÂŁ30.Â
This amount could help 45 people find hope during tough times on Mind’s online peer support community Side by Side, or help Mind send out 250 information booklets, so people who are struggling with their mental health can make sense of what they are going through and find ways to cope.
Rosie Herbert, Mind regional manager, said: “We’re so excited to welcome the people of Balham to this new Mind shop.
“I urge locals to visit the shop or get in touch to find out more about how they can support us.”
Balham Mind shop is pleased to accept clothing, accessories, books, records, DVDs, CDs, homeware, linens and children’s games and toys.Â
