Urban Spa named South East Boutique Salon of the Year.

The brightest names in beauty have been recognised at the Professional Beauty Regional Awards, including Streatham’s Emma Wilson Urban Spa, which was named South East Boutique Salon of the Year.

The awards were handed out to the most outstanding salons and spas in the country at a champagne event at the Manchester Central conference centre on October 22, hosted by comedian Ian Moore.

Now in its second year, the awards celebrated boutiques (for businesses with three treatment rooms or fewer), large salons (four treatment rooms or more) and spas. There were 22 categories in total, recognising professionalism, skill and customer service.

Emma Wilson Urban Spa beat off stiff competition from others in the region. The South East Boutique Salon of the Year category seeks to recognise the most successful small salon in the area, catapulting the finalists into the country’s best beauty talent.

A win doesn’t just mark out a salon as the best in the region, but also as an authority on beauty and a destination business which brings clients through the door.

Accepting the award, salon owner Emma Wilson said: “Winning this award is a career goal come true. I’ve been reading Professional Beauty magazine since I was 16, so winning this award feels amazing. We only opened the salon 18 months ago and our success is down to the amazing team. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you for your continued support.”

Addressing the assembled audience of 400 beauty professionals, Professional Beauty editor Eve Oxberry said: “This is all about celebrating the very best of our industry. We seek to recognise those that set a shining example for beauty businesses; those who excel at services, customer relations and business acumen, and who set the gold standard to which we should all aspire.
