Exciting Crystal Palace youngster pens first professional deal

Exciting Crystal Palace youngster Caleb Kporha has signed his first professional contract with the club.

Kporha, 17, joined Palace at U16 level from Welling United.

The versatile right-back, who can play across the defence and also as a winger, played 22 games last season and scored three times.

Kporha was called up to represent England at U17 level for two friendlies against Germany in January.

Speaking with Palace TV, Kporha said: “It’s a very proud moment for me and my family, it’s a dream come true for me and I’m looking forward to the future here at the club.”

U18s head coach Rob Quinn said: “Caleb has worked exceptionally hard in his first year as a scholar, both on and off the pitch, to earn his first professional contract.

“He had a great season last time out, including featuring for England, and I have no doubt that he will press on in the coming campaign.”
