Oliver Glasner quizzed on Marc Guehi’s Crystal Palace future with Newcastle making fourth bid for England international

Oliver Glasner is planning to have Marc Guehi involved for Crystal Palace’s opening Premier League clash at Brentford on Sunday.

The 24-year-old has been subject to multiple bids from league rivals Newcastle during the summer window.

Newcastle made a fourth bid on Friday of a fee in the region of £65million for the England international, which is understood to be under consideration by the South Londoners.

Chairman Steve Parish warned Newcastle during the week that they will have to pay “superstar money” to prise Guehi away from Selhurst Park.

“Yes, Marc trained today with us,” confirmed Glasner.

“We talked together. I have no other information.

“I have to look at my bank account and see if something came in. It doesn’t look like it.

“We have planned with Marc. He’s our player and our captain. I can’t tell you anything else.

“I don’t know how the chairman defines superstar money. It’s a question you have to ask to the chairman.”

Joachim Andersen has been subject to bids from London rivals Fulham, while Jordan Ayew is wanted by Leiecster City and teams in Saudi Arabia.

“There were many rumours about players,” added Glasner.

“You asked me about availability – all players are available.

“I’m very close with all the players – we are talking almost every day.

“As long as nobody tells me: ‘Gaffer, I will leave.’ Or if the club tells me a player will leave, we work with them every day and prepare the team to be competitive for a Premier League game.

“At the moment, every single player will play at Brentford.”
