Crystal Palace duo look set to miss the rest of the season through injury

Chadi Riad is expected to miss the rest of the season for Crystal Palace after suffering an ACL injury in training.

The centre-back has suffered an injury-hit first campaign in South London.

Riad joined in the summer in a £14million deal after spending the season on loan at Real Betis from Barcelona.

The 20-year-old picked up an MCL injury in the EFL Cup win over Norwich in August and has only played once in the Premier League this season.

He made a playing return in the FA Cup third-round win over Stockport and was named on the bench in recent Premier League outings against Leicester and West Ham.

The Eagles are now set to enter the transfer market for a centre-back after Trevoh Chalobah was recalled by Chelsea earlier this window and the injury blow to Riad.

There are also major concerns that Cheick Doucoure will miss the rest of the season through injury.

The Mali international had his minutes managed after suffering a serious Achilles injury against Luton in November 2023 and was just getting back to full fitness.
