Free tennis sessions on offer in Hammersmith park in a drive to boost wellbeing

Free tennis sessions have launched in Shepherd’s Bush as part of a drive to boost physical and mental wellbeing in Hammersmith and Fulham.

The free weekly sessions in Hammersmith Park began on Saturday, September 28, and are provided by national charity ‘Tennis For Free’.

The sessions will be led by professional coaches and are open to all residents, of any ability.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for residents to get active in the fresh air in one of our Green Flag awarded parks,” said Cllr Wesley Harcourt, the council’s cabinet member for environment.

“The sessions are free and open to everyone, from those who’ve never picked up a racket, to regular club players, so please come along.”

The scheme is being run by the charity in partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham Council and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

The sessions will run for one year, providing residents with plenty of chances to get active and benefit from regular exercise.

Tennis For Free will take place every Saturday lunchtime from 1pm until 2.30pm in Hammersmith Park, Shepherd’s Bush.

You can sign up to take part in the Tennis For Free sessions at the charity’s website at https://www.tennisforfree.com
