MoRunning celebrates its 10th anniversary in Greenwich Park

Greenwich Park is not exactly the Mushroom Kingdom, but video game legends Mario and Luigi were among the runners to celebrate the 10th anniversary of a moustache race.

More than 850 runners of all ages and abilities came to the park for a morning filled with fast times and moustache-shaped medals in aid of the Movember Foundation.

MoRunning is a series of fun 1.5km, 5km and 10km runs taking place at 24 locations across the UK and Ireland during November in aid of the Movember Foundation, which raises vital funds and awareness around men’s health.

This year MoRunning is celebrating its 10th anniversary in which the running series has raised more than a staggering £1million.

This year, runners were once again encouraged to join the fun in costumes and fancy dress, including the famed moustache, to continue to raise money for a great cause.

Matthew Cartwright triumphed in the men’s 5km race in 17mins.52sec, with David Worden taking victory in the men’s 10km distance in 37mins 10secs and Ellie Ball and Madeleine Cooper Brennan winning the women’s 5k and 10k races in 21:58 and 43:29 respectively.

David Krangel at MoRunning said: “We’re delighted to have had so many people supporting MoRunning in London and are sharing and supporting the message of the importance
of men’s health.”
