Duo challenged to take Millwall chance – as friendly programme gives them chance to stake a claim

Tyler Burey and Hayden Muller have been challenged to take their chance after being part of Millwall’s senior set-up in pre-season.

Winger Burey, 19, signed from AFC Wimbledon in the summer of 2019.
Defender Muller, 18, came on as a substitute to make his Lions debut in the 4-1 win over Huddersfield Town in July.

Both have been part of Lions boss Gary Rowett’s plans so far in pre-season and joined the senior set-up for the recent training camp in Scotland.

Rowett said: “The two that started up there with us – Hayden and Tyler – have both done really, really well. Being exposed to the first-team training and environment will only serve to accelerate their development.

“How quick they develop, get into the first team and get games in the first team will be down to how well they do and perform.

“What’s nice pre-season is it gives them an opportunity to be in that squad and be competing.

“I’ll be quite interested when the games come around to see how those two do. But as two younger ones in the U23s it is a great opportunity for them.

“They’ve been impressive so far and we want to try and give those players an opportunity to feature this season.”
