Camberwell sets the table for a global feast this May

The spotlight is on Camberwell this May as it plays host to a huge celebration of global cuisine with the Camberwell Food Festival 2024.

Set against the backdrop of the lively Camberwell Green on Saturday, May 18th, this year’s festival is themed, ‘eat around the world’.

Nestled in the heart of South London, Camberwell has long been a hidden gem in the city’s culinary map, boasting an impressive array of eateries within its 1.5 square miles. 

From quaint cafes offering the perfect espresso to a bustling farmers market serving up flavours from around the globe, Camberwell’s diverse food scene is a vibrant celebration of its multicultural community. 

This year’s food festival seeks to highlight why Camberwell has emerged as a must-visit spot for food lovers everywhere.

Camberwell Food Festival: Eat Around The World 2024, invites visitors to experience the fiery spices of Asia, the hearty, comforting dishes of Africa, the zestful flavours of Latin America, and the aromatic, cuisine of the Middle East and the Mediterranean.

The festival will feature an eclectic mix of local and independent food vendors, showcasing what Camberwell has to offer. 

Beyond indulging in global cuisines, the festival will be hosting live music, including performances by local musician Mr Swing Easy. 

There will also be cooking demonstrations led by chefs from Spring Community Hub, Nandines, Zeret Kitchen, and Margaret’s Cakes of Distinction – all based in Camberwell.

The festival will also cater to families with a variety of activities including a penalty shoot-out, face painting, zorb balls, and a bouncy castle, ensuring a memorable day out for all.

The festival has been brought to life by Camberwell.Life supported by SE5 Forum, Camberwell Arts, and Camberwell Society, along with local independent businesses.
