The Last Word Festival celebrates it’s 106th year at the Roundhouse
Everybody wants to get the last word, but this year a festival is bringing together the very best poets to show you how it’s done.
This summer marks the 106th year of The Last Word Festival at the Roundhouse.
The jam-packed festival celebrating the power of spoken word in all its glory is back.
With an impressive line-up of some of the UK’s very best wordsmiths, this festival promises captivating stories and diverse perspectives until June 18.
The legendary South London collective, Speakers Corner Quartet, will be performing on the main stage today to celebrate their debut album Further Out Than The Edge alongside many of the album features.
The group combines jazz, electronica and spoken word to create their unique sound, developed over the last 15 years.
Other highlights include the unmissable Poetry Slam Final on June 9, a conversation from the creators behind A Quick Ting On on June 18 to discuss the first book series dedicated to chronicling black British culture and history and a workshop from Jack Rooke, the writer of Channel 4’s Big Boys on how to write for TV, radio and film.
