7-year-old boy found dead after house fire in Deptford

A seven-year-old boy has died in a house fire.

An arson investigation has been launched after police were called to a house in Adolphus Street, Deptford, to reports of a fire.

Officers attended along with paramedics and fire-fighters. The seven-year-old was found dead inside the property. His next-of-kin have been informed.

A number of surrounding properties were evacuated as well as a precaution.

Two women were taken to a central London hospital by paramedics. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

Officers from Lewisham are investigating, supported by the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

There have been no arrests.
