‘All the hard work paid off’: Every pupil beats national average with GCSE results at one school

Students and staff at Harris Academy Beckenham are celebrating GCSE results after every pupil achieved “significantly higher” grades than the pre-pandemic national average.

A spokeswoman from the school in Manor Way, Beckenham, said the results were “particularly impressive” this year.

Among those celebrating is Michael Miller, 16, who has received six grade nines, four grade eights and one grade six.

Mr Miller said: “I am amazed at how well I have done, all the hard work paid off.

“I am so proud of myself and grateful for the hard work and support my teachers have shown me.”

Harris Academy Beckenham is an academy within the Harris Federation, a group of 52 primary and secondary academies in and around London.

Ciara Warnock, Principal of the school said:  “Our students and staff work tremendously hard to achieve this success year after year.

“These fabulous results are a fantastic affirmation of the academy’s ethos and values of high aspirations, and achievement.

“They also reflect the magnificent work, inspiration and encouragement that staff across the Academy give to our students.

“Congratulations and well done everyone!”
