Bromley school sets up food bank to support families experiencing hardship

A school has set up a a food bank to support families experiencing hardship as a result of Covid-19.

Ravensbourne School in Hayes Lane, Bromley, has had donations from local businesses including Bromley Football Club, generous members of the public and West Kent’s Provincial Grand Lodge.

Headteacher Mark O’Shaughnessy said: “We are proud that our families have reached out to seek help from us and we hope that our efforts will go some way to alleviate hunger and distress.

“To date, over two dozen families are being supported and we hope many more will come forward in the coming weeks.

“I am immensely proud of the way the school community has come together during this time. It is important to take care of each other and ourselves.”

The school accepts food and non-perishable household product donations between Monday-Friday, 8am-12pm.
