Bus route extends across South London to new hospital
South Londoners will soon benefit from improved transport links as a bus route is set to be extended to the newly built Springfield University Hospital.
The extension to route 315 will mean buses will run between West Norwood and the new hospital in Tooting.
The frequency of the 315 will remain every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday during the day and every 30 minutes on Sundays and every evening.
Buses will travel in both directions along Balham High Road, Tooting Bec Station, Trinity Road, Glenburnie Road and Springfield Drive
Two new bus stops on Springfield Drive will mean customers will be able to better connect to the new development at Springfield University Hospital which includes new mental health facilities, homes, a care home, café and a public park.
Geoff Hobbs, TfL’s director of public transport service planning, said: “We keep the bus network under constant review to ensure customers have access to affordable and sustainable public transport options and this extension to route 315 will make a big difference to people travelling in the area.
“The 315 is a key route for those needing to make trips to the hospital as well as getting to and from the new development in Tooting and we’ll continue our work to improve public transport for people in the local area and beyond.”
The extension to 315 is due to be introduced next year following completion of necessary works on Glenburnie Road.
