Court appearance today for Brixton man accused of woman’s murder
A Brixton man has been charged with the murder of 42-year-old Gemma Devonish in Carshalton.
James Madden, who was known to Gemma, was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning. On Saturday, he was charged with her murder.
Madden, 38, of Railton Road, will appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today.
Police were called at around 10.30am on Thursday, and found Gemma with stab wounds inside an address in Nutfield Close.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and she was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers await the conclusion of a post-mortem examination.
Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder.
