Court today for man accused of petrol station knife attack
A man has been charged with possession of a knife and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent following an alleged attack at a petrol station in Lewisham.
Fitzgerald Carty, 66, of Dacre Park, Lewisham, will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court today.
The incident happened in Lee High Road at around 3pm on Saturday. Carty is accused of being armed with a knife, and attacking another man aged in his 40s.
A local police officer on patrol, PC Morgan Younger, intervened and arrested the suspect.
The man was taken into custody and charged on Sunday evening.
