Developer gives grants of £280k to help the residents of Deptford

A string of projects have been given big grants by a developer.

Deptford Challenge Trust (DCT) has awarded grants of more than £280,000 to organisations in Deptford, to support a variety of schemes.

The cash will be spent on education and skills, social inclusion, health and well-being and the opportunity to connect community organisations into their neighbourhoods.

A total of 18 recipients received funding, including Evelyn Parents Forum, Bench Outreach and Creekside Education Trust.

A full list of those who were awarded a grant can be found on the DCT website here.

Des Malone, chairman of the Deptford Challenge Trust said: “It is inspiring to learn about the initiative and determination of local organisations who strive to make Deptford a better place for all, and in particular the marginalised.

“We know the money will, as usual, be put to excellent use.”
