Man found in park with head injuries after ‘violent assault’

A man was found in the early hours of this morning in a park with head injuries after a “violent assault”.

The Met was called at around 7am this morning to reports of an injured man in Burgess Park, Southwark.

Officers, London’s Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service attended.

At the scene a man had suffered head injuries. He was taken to a south London hospital but there has been no update on his condition.

Enquiries are underway to identify the injured man.

Detective Sergeant Tom Dunn, of the Met’s Central South Command, said: “We are very keen to hear from anyone who either witnessed the incident that caused the victim to be injured, or anyone who thinks they know who he is.

“He is believed to be aged 30s, with dark hair, possibly of south American descent. If you can help please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
