Man in 20s in ‘critical condition’ from gunshot wound

Police are investigating a shooting in Woolwich that has left a man in a critical condition.

Officers were called shortly after 10.30pm last night following reports of a firearm discharge in the vicinity of Granby House, Ogilby Street.

Armed officers were among those from the Met who attended the scene but no victim or signs of a firearm could be located.

Police were subsequently informed that a man, aged in his 20s, had attended a hospital suffering a gunshot injury. He remains in hospital in a critical condition.

A crime scene remain in place. No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances continue.
