Man in court charged with murder of his wife in Rotherhithe

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his wife in Rotherhithe.

Weimar Mosquera, 53, was charged with the murder of 46-year-old Sandra Giraldo and appeared at Croydon Magistrates Court on Saturday.

He will next appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow at 10am.

Police were called to Canute Gardens at around 8.20pm on Wednesday of last week following concerns for the welfare of a woman.

The body of Sandra Giraldo was found inside the address.

The charge follows an investigation by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.
