Mystery surrounds man injured lying next to an e-scooter

Mystery surrounds how a man was left injured lying next to an e-scooter.

Police were initially called around 2.30am yesterday to reports of a man lying injured next to an e-scooter in Love Lane, near the junction with Green Lane, in Morden.

Officers attended and carried out a search of the area, however no victim was located.

At around 1.15pm on the same day, police received a call from a person reporting that a male had been admitted to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in a critical condition.

An investigation is under way to establish how the man came to sustain his injuries and officers would like to hear from anybody with information or dashcam footage from Green Lane at around the time of the incident on Thursday.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or can help establish the circumstances of events is asked to contact police on 0208 5435 157 quoting CAD 3700/22Apr. Alternatively call 101 or tweet @MetCC.
