Body found in Thames confirmed as missing 20-year-old Harvey Parker

A body found in the Thames has been confirmed identified as that of missing student Harvey Parker from Lambeth.

Harvey has been missing since December 17, when was seen leaving Heaven Nightclub alone, by Charing Cross Railway Station in Westminster at around 2:15am.

CCTV footage showed Harvey then entering Craven Street and walking south towards the Embankment.

The RNLI reported a body in the Thames near Embankment to the police at around 12pm on January 4, and officers from the Met’s Marine Support Unit recovered the body.

The identity of the body was confirmed  on Thursday by Inner West London Coroner’s Court.

Police say the death is being treated as unexplained.

Detective Chief Inspector Lucy O’Connor, of the Central South Command Unit, said: “Sadly a body has been recovered from the Thames near where Harvey was last seen.

“We are providing Harvey’s family with all the available information. We are also asking for media to please respect the family’s privacy at this challenging and difficult time.”

Family liaison officers have informed Harvey’s family of developments.
