Pop-up vaccination clinic in Croydon will offer vaccinations with no appointment needed

On Saturday (March 20) the Covid-19 vaccination will be offered at Croydon Mosque in London Road from 1.15-4pm.

It is for those over 50 and those in an ‘at risk’ group who have not yet had their first jab.

The Astra Zeneca jab will be administered by a team from Thornton Road Surgery.

In a video, Dr Usman Quraishi who is a GP at Edith Cavell Surgery in Streatham offered reassurance about the vaccination.

He said: “There is a lot of false information being spread about the vaccine, firstly that the vaccine can make you infertile, this is false and there is no evidence at all to support this.

“Secondly, that the vaccine was developed too fast and there is not enough research, the vaccine has actually undergone a huge amount of research testing and regulatory approval before it was made available to the public.

“Thirdly the vaccine has severe unrecorded side effects and can alter your DNA and most people experience only mild side effects, such as a sore arm, headache and tiredness.

“Fourthly the ingredients are not halal. The Covid-19 vaccination doesn’t contain any animal products or eggs. The vaccine contains microchips, this is also not true, the vaccine only contains medicine.

“The sixth point is that the vaccine contains foetus cells, this is not true it only contains medicine.

“Please don’t wait for others to have the vaccine first, when you are invited please take the opportunity to keep your friends and family safe.”
