Schoolchildren invited to Houses of Parliament by MP
Schoolchildren in Bromley have been invited to the Houses of Parliament after being paid a special visit by an MP.
Liam Conlon MP met with staff and pupils at St Mark’s Church of England Primary School in Aylesbury Road, Bromley.
The political representative of Beckenham and Penge, who represents Shortlands in Bromley, received a tour of the facilities, accompanied by headteacher Chris Hollands.
The MP also held a lively discussion with children to explain the introduction of the new electric 358 buses as well as the future development plans for Crystal Palace Park.
Before concluding his visit, Mr Conlon extended a special invitation to the pupils to visit the Houses of Parliament.
The trip, which will take place soon, promises to give the children a closer look at the heart of British democracy.
Mr Hollands said: “Showing Mr Conlon the life-transforming learning we provide pupils at St Mark’s CE Primary School was a pleasure.
“Our pupils were thrilled to have the opportunity to discuss what life is like as an MP and are very excited for their upcoming trip to the Houses of Parliament.
“I want to extend my gratitude to Mr Conlon for taking the time out of his busy schedule to visit our school.”
