Second man charged in Trei Daley killing
A second man has been charged with the murder of Trei Daley, who stabbed to death outside a nightclub.
Mawien Mawien, 38, of Portland Close, Romford, has been charged with murder, wounding of another man and possession of a bladed article.
He is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court today.
Trei, 26, of Bromley, was stabbed in early hours of February 11 near the Colour Factory nightclub in Queen’s Yard, which is just off White Post Lane in Hackney Wick.
Police were called at around 4.30am on Saturday when two people arrived at a hospital in east London with stab injuries.
Despite the efforts of medics, Trei died at hospital. A post-mortem held on February 14 found the cause of death to have been a stab wound to the chest.
The second man, aged 24, was discharged from hospital later that same day.
Christopher Appiah-Blay, 35, of Wick Road, Hackney, was charged on February 14, with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
He appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on the same day and was remanded in custody.
A trial has been set for April 2, 2024 at the Old Bailey.
A 20-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of murder and has been bailed to a date in May.
