Bromley confirm League Two status at the first time of asking after 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley

Bromley secured their League Two status on Saturday in their very first EFL campaign after a 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley at Hayes Lane.

A brace from Michael Cheek and goals from Cameron Congreve and Ben Thompson gave the Ravens all three points.

The South Londoners were promoted from the National League via the play-offs last season and have played in their first League Two campaign for the first time in 132 years.

Bromley are 20 points clear of the drop zone with five games left to play.

“It was absolutely superb,” said Woodman.

The way we went about the day and the professionalism of what we did, we kept doing the basics well from start to finish.

“I thought we had a really good professional day at the office.

“It reminded me of some of our performances from last year. Our two centre-halves were immaculate and I’m delighted with the clean sheet.

“Cheeky should have had a hat-trick. It could have been a few more, but the goalie did well, to be fair to him.

“We have been banging on the door of giving a team a good hiding – we did that today.

“We were really professional with what we did today.”

The Ravens are nine points off the top seven.

“I think we can still make the play-offs,” said Woodman.

“I’m proud, but you know me – I’ll look back and maybe have one or two regrets about missed opportunities.

“But we want to keep pushing this club forward – that’s what I want to do.”
