Charlton Athletic boss Mishra left disappointed as Leicester match ends in a draw – Davenport ‘gutted’ as Palace lose derby
Charlton climbed off the bottom of the FA Women’s Championship last weekend – but boss Riteesh Mishra was still left feeling disappointed.
The Addicks drew 1-1 at home to Leicester and had led through Charlie Devlin’s goal.
Charlton are back in action at London Bees on Sunday.
Mishra, pictured right, was deflated at sharing the points with the Foxes.
“It’s two points dropped,” he said. “We played at home against a team we should have beaten. We allowed them back in to the game.
“Half-time came when we were on top and we could have scored one or two more.
“Second half we came out and didn’t play with the same confidence and once they scored it became a little bit of a scrappy game.
“It’s three games unbeaten now, and we’ve got a big month coming up. We’re creating chances so there are positives. It’s a young group and we’ve got to learn quickly that we have to punish teams when we get chances.
“We’ve got to find a way to get points. It’s not good enough to play well in periods and not get anything out of them.”
Crystal Palace head to Blackburn Ladies. They lost 2-1 at home to London City Lionesses on Sunday.
Ashleigh Goddard put the Eagles ahead but former Charlton striker Liz Ejupi scored the decider.
Palace manager Dean Davenport said: “The players were outstanding from start to finish, and unquestionably it was one of our best performances of the season.
“Our shutting down of the ball was exceptional, we were definitely on top.”
