Marc Weatherstone has announced his departure from Dulwich Hamlet.

The midfielder ended nine years with Wingate & Finchley when he signed for the South London club in June 2016.

Weatherstone said: “It’s with great sadness that my time at Dulwich Hamlet is over. Unfortunately the travelling that comes with the Conference South is too much and will have an effect on my work.

“My two years and 106 appearances with Dulwich have been incredible. My aim when joining was to gain promotion and thankfully I achieved that.

“The memories will stay with me forever. A club like Dulwich doesn’t come around often, so I feel privileged to have played with a club of this stature.

“This club deserves every success in the future and I wish them all the very best.

“I would like to thank Gavin Rose and Junior Kadi for everything they have helped me with. They truly are the best management team I have played for.

“I would like to thank all the fans – the best fans in non-league who have supported me since the moment I joined. You’r support has pushed me on another 10 per cent and I will never forget our celebrations after the play-off final win.

“Lastly, the players, over the two seasons we have become a tight knit family and it showed how close we were on the pitch.

“We really had a special squad.”
