Millwall boss confirms Liverpool loanee’s season could be over after hamstring injury

Millwall head coach Alex Neil has revealed that Liverpool loanee Calum Scanlon’s season could be over.

The Reds youngster came off in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Luton Town in the first half after injuring his hamstring.

Goalkeeper Lukas Jensen was also stretchered off in the closing stages at Kenilworth Road and neither player featured in tonight’s 1-0 victory at Portsmouth.

Asked about the pair, Neil said: “Calum has got a grade three on his hamstring so Calum will be probably 12 weeks – it is maybe a season finisher for Calum.

“Lukas shouldn’t be too long. I’m hoping he will be a few days rather than a few weeks.”

Asked if there were any deals close, Neil replied: “Listen, the window shuts Monday and we’re hopeful. We’re working on a lot of things – as always there will be a lot of moving parts in the window.

“We’re doing our best to get a few over the line. Let’s see what the next few days bring.”
