Millwall have got one of the top attacking double acts in the Championship

Millwall manager Gary Rowett reckons that it’s hard to find a better attacking double act in the Championship than Zian Flemming and Tom Bradshaw.

Dutchman Flemming, a club record £1.7million signing from Fortuna Sittard last summer, scored his 15th goal of the campaign in Friday’s 3-2 win over Blackpool.

Bradshaw struck twice at Bloomfield Road to take his season’s tally to 17.

“They have been massive,” said Rowett, when asked about the duo’s impact on Millwall’s season. “They are probably the most successful forward pairing in the league. If I looked at it I bet there aren’t many other clubs with a number nine and number 10 with such combined numbers.

“Of course when you are playing every week and you’re in those positions then it is your job to go and score goals and create goals. But they have done it brilliantly all season. Sometimes it’s easy to say: ‘Without those two, where would we be?’ You’d have another two people to have an opportunity every week to play in those positions. However, they have done fantastically. They’ve done what it says on the tin.

“They are very different players but actually link quite well. They have got different attributes and different ways of playing.

“What I like the most is Zian’s ability, in general, to find different strikes and finishes from around the edge of the box. It’s one of his main attributes.

“What I liked most about Tom on Friday was he gets chances and sometimes he is so all-action that he’s so desperate to score it is hard to find those little subtle finishes that take a little more delicate nature or composure. His two finishes were really good – particularly his second one, when it’s easy to hit the keeper with a shot. Just to find that lovely little dink and that extra touch to find the corner was great.

“That’s been the difference this year with Bradders – his finishing. His work-rate we know (he always provides). He has benefited from playing more.”
