Neal Ardley: Dons didn’t give it enough of a go against Blackburn Rovers

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley said he was disappointed his charges didn’t give league leaders Blackburn Rovers a miserable time in South London, in the manner the Wimbledon of old would have done.
“My overriding feeling was, in the end, it looked like we were outclassed a bit by a team that were better in most departments,” said Ardley after tonight’s 3-0 defeat.
“[There is] disappointment that we didn’t really have a go. It’s a cold freezing night, a Tuesday night at home to top of the league and I just expect Wimbledon teams to have a right go, and if you come up short, you come up short because the opposition are better. I didn’t feel that today.
“I thought, first half, there was nothing between the teams, everything we wanted to do, we did. We conceded a really poor goal. I don’t know if it was over the line, my analyst’s watched it back and didn’t think it was, but it was given and it was a poor one.
“The second goal kills us. I don’t know whether we were outclassed in the fact they were the better team or… well, I know we didn’t have enough of a go.”
