Six highly-rated Crystal Palace youngsters set to head off on first-team pre-season tour

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is set to take a handful of the club’s academy talent on the pre-season tour of the USA.

The South London Press understands that Caleb Kporha, Franco Umeh, Asher Agbinone, Justin Devenny, Roshaun Mathurin and Mofe Jemide are all set to jet off to America with the Austrian manager.

Right-back Kporha, 18, is highly thought of by the Eagles and recently made a playing return after missing a large chuck of last season through injury.

Umeh is another rated highly by the hierarchy at SE25 and featured four times on the bench under Glasner after he took over from Roy Hodgson.

Exciting centre-back Jemide, 17, stepped up to play with the U21s towards the end of last season and penned a professional in November 2023.

Devenny, 20, joined Glasner’s first-team squad for their mid-season training camp in Marbella in March.

Mathurin, 20, was named on the bench twice in the Premier League under Glasner last season.

Winger Agbinone, 18, stepped up to U21s football towards the end of last season – playing three times for Darren Powell’s side in the Premier League 2.

The Eagles will play Wolves and West Ham during their time in the USA.
