Tariqe Fosu expected to miss Saturday’s trip to Blackburn Rovers – with Blackpool fixture the likely return date

Tariqe Fosu looks unlikely to be risked by Charlton Athletic boss Karl Robinson at Blackburn Rovers this weekend – with the home match against Blackpool set to be his return fixture.

The 22-year-old has missed the last five League One matches with a groin strain.

Before that the summer signing from Reading had netted seven goals in  16 league games.

Robinson told the South London Press: “Maybe not this weekend [for Fosu]. He’s had a scan on Friday and it looks like it is starting to clear up.

“He’ll have another scan this week as well. We don’t want it to reoccur this week if we push him and there is any weakness.

“It is wiser to leave it one more weekend because we don’t want him to break down.”
