Churchill Theatre brings festive shows to kids schools and online

A theatre has been forced to think of creative ways to bring their productions to young people.

Churchill Theatre in Bromley usually puts on a festive production for kids each year in their studio.

But this year they have taken the show directly to schools as well as putting it online.

This year’s show The Gingerbread Man has been performed for 170 pupils at Harris Primary Academy Kent House and the downloaded version will be shown to a further 450 pupils across Bromley.

The production tells the original story of the Gingerbread Man with use of puppets and original music.

The downloadable video also comes with print-out activity sheets – including how to make your own puppets to join in with the show.

The production was made in collaboration with puppetry company Knuckle and Joint with support from Arts Council England and is directed by Rebecca O’Brien.

She is a local artist, having grown up in Beckenham and attended Langley Park School for Girls.
