Man punched in face and sprayed with deodorant in front of his kids on bus

A man was punched and sprayed with deodorant in front of his children on a bus in Wandsworth.

Police have released CCTV footage of two people they are trying to find in connection with the assault.

At around 1.30pm on Sunday, June 26 a 37-year-old man was assaulted on board the 156 bus close to Wandsworth Road in Lambeth.

The victim and his girlfriend, who were travelling with their young children, told officers that a female boarded the bus before attempting to get back off. As the bus pulled away, she began to scream and kicked the doors.

Her behaviour caused the children to become upset, and the victim asked her to calm down. At this point the suspect confronted the victim.

A man – who is believed to have been known to the woman – then punched the victim before the female suspect sprayed what is believed to be deodorant into the victim’s face.

Both suspects got off at the next stop.

The victim suffered minor facial injuries in the assault.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating, and have released CCTV images of two people they need to identify and speak with in connection with the assault.

Anyone who recognises them is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 6032/08Aug.
