Charlton midfielder Darren Pratley has done his chances no harm of League One play-off final start

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Darren Pratley has made a strong claim to start Sunday’s League One play-off final.

The Charlton midfielder, 34, scored in extra-time last Friday – pushing the semi-final tie against Doncaster to a penalty shootout.

Pratley has been a substitute for four of the Addicks’ last five matches.

The call is whether manager Lee Bowyer opts for the former Swansea and Bolton man – who has played 248 Championship matches – over youngster Albie Morgan.

“I’ve always known what he [Pratley] brings,” said Pratley. “I’ve used him on a lot of big occasions – like Wycombe away. That was massive for us, that result, and he played in that.

“I brought him on in the two legs against Doncaster, he came on and played a big part of them.

“I know what he is going to bring, he has got the benefit of experience.

“He has been in this situation before.

“He’s a winner, so he has definitely done himself no harm over the last two games.”
