Teenage boy arrested on suspicion of engaging in preparation for terrorist acts

A 15-year-old boy linked to extreme far right ideology from South London has been bailed after being arrested by the Met’s counter terrorism unit.

Officers arrested the 15-year-old at an address in South London on the morning of Friday, January 7.

The teenager was detained under PACE after being arrested on suspicion of engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorist acts contrary to Section 5 Terrorism Act 2006.

The boy was taken to a London police station and has since been bailed to a date in February.

Police also searched the residence and have said they do not believe there is any imminent threat to the public in relation to this.

The ongoing investigation is suspected to be linked to extreme right wing ideology.
