New Cross pub to host experimental choral project

The Amersham Arms in new Cross hosts a new, experimental choral project exploring avant-garde arrangements, from Wilton Way Studio in Hackney.

The HAHA Sounds Collective consists of singers and musicians who have worked on a songbook of David Axelrod’s seminal record Earth Rot from 1970.

The choir features a host of performers involved in some of London’s most exciting musical projects, including past and present members of Vanishing Twin, Ulrika Spacek, Pollyanna Valentine, Broadcast, Blue House, Stereolab, Clémentine March, Viewfinder, IKO Chérie, Syd Kemp, Younghusband and Lætitia Sadier. To the group’s knowledge, they are the first to publicly score the record.
